The game is divided up into two campaigns of 10 missions. That’s all fine with me though all I care about is the gameplay. There’s definitely an attempt, but the writing is campy and awkward and the voice acting is comically bad (with unfortunately unskippable cutscenes). The game, as far as I could tell, attempts to marry the storytelling stylings of old samurai films and anime aimed at children. Just to get it out of the way, the story isn’t great. Tenchu released for the PSX in 1998 to put the player in the shoes of two 16th century ninjas. To put things in science terms, Tenchu feels like the last common ancestor shared by Assassin’s Creed and Dark Souls.
